Jack Cohen - “Your Nevada CPA”
Member AICPAJack Cohen, co-founder, has spent his entire career involved with federal taxes. Jack had an exceptional career at the Internal Revenue Service (33 years) where he managed some of the largest corporate audits in the nation. For his work as a manager in the Large and Mid-Sized Business Division, he was given the David Bernard Award in 2006, which is emblematic of employee of the year nationwide within the division.
During the course of his next position of Director of Tax and Accounting at Integrated Tax Solutions, a Nevada company instrumental in assisting the formation of new businesses as well as minimizing taxes for existing clients, Jack recognized the potential for a more personalized and straightforward tax service.
He leads a team of professionals with many years' experience at tax preparation as well as tax representation of clients in front of Internal Revenue Service and other taxing authorities. He is an actively licensed CPA in Nevada, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Jack is also a licensed real estate broker in Pennsylvania. Jack would like to be "Your Nevada CPA.”
Lynn Johnson, EA, CPP, CB
Tax ManagerAs an Enrolled Agent, Lynn brings a broad range of accounting, payroll and tax knowledge to the team that has helped corporate and entrepreneurial ventures for the past 25 years. She is adept in partnering together with clients to achieve their business goals and to keep their financial operations in balance and in check.
Lynn’s diverse experience includes corporate accounting for international companies to leading casinos and hotels in Nevada’s gaming industry, as well as implementing business operations strategies for small- to medium-sized businesses. Clients continually benefit from Lynn’s ability to drive high level tax strategy down to the nuts-and-bolts of setting up and executing accurate and efficient bookkeeping and payroll standards.
Lynn’s background also includes accounting for engineering, construction, manufacturing, real estate, farming and ranching industries. In addition, Lynn is a Certified Bookkeeper, Certified Payroll Professional and Quickbooks® Advance Certified ProAdvisor.
Carl Weiss
National Director of Tax ControversiesRecently retired from the Internal Revenue Service, Carl has over 20 years of certified public accounting and audit examination experience. He was a senior manager at the IRS for the Large and Mid-Size Business (LMSB) Division with extensive experience in tax compliance.
Carl understands how to build coalition between parties in the tax controversy process. Skilled in IRS practice and procedures, he understands the interplay of domestic and international taxation in the global business environment. He is also experienced in developing and managing inherent risk in tax compliance. While in the LMSB, Carl oversaw and managed federal tax examinations of corporations, subchapter S corporations, and partnerships with assets greater than $10 million.
Carl’s tactical expertise encompasses a broad range of major industries: communications, technology and media; financial services; heavy manufacturing and transportation; natural resources and construction; and retailers, food, pharmaceuticals and healthcare. He is a member of the AICPA and a Certified Public Accountant in Pennsylvania.
James Gilbert
National Director – International TaxJim brings 35 years of Internal Revenue Service experience to our clients. During his career at the IRS, he served as a manager in the Large & Mid-Sized Business (LMSB) Unit, a manager for the Computer Audit Specialist group of agents and, most importantly, he served as an international tax law specialist working within the LMSB Unit of the IRS. Jim has done extensive work involving a number of tax issues including transfer pricing, foreign tax credits, allocation and apportionment of income as well as research and experimentation tax credits. Jim is a Certified Public Accountant in Pennsylvania.
